Alexander Wang x H&M NYC Launch Event + Missy Elliot Performance

For those that follow me on Instagram @nitro_licious and Vine @nitrolicious, you already know that I was at the Alexander Wang x H&M NYC launch event at the Armory on the Hudson last night for the big celebration. Celebrities like Dakota Fanning, Justin Theroux, Kate Mara, Mary J. Blige, Melissa George, Solange Knowles and more were in attendance. The indoor track and field stadium was transformed into a futuristic racetrack runway with models strutting in the performance-wear inspired collection. The start of the show was a performance with free runners using the show’s set for a parkour performance.

And the moment all the fashion enthusiasts were waiting for was the opening of the pop-up shop in a locker-room setting, a chance to shop the collection 3 weeks before the global launch! The highlight of the night was a special performance by Missy Elliot with an opening act by hip hop artist Sharaya J. DJ and producer Diplo kept the party going for the afterparty. H&M does it again, year after year, their designer collaboration launch events never fails to impress! Epic party, so glad to have been there to experience it all. Congrats to Alexander Wang and H&M!!

Check out the full collection and prices here. Love the whole collection, what’s on your wishlist? The collection will be available in 250 H&M stores worldwide, and online starting November 6, 2014.

#NitroliciousNailBar at Sneaker Con New York

Sneaker Con x nitro:licious Nail Bar

How many of you ladies attended Sneaker Con New York this past Saturday? Did you stop by the #NitroliciousNailBar to get nail art? If you did, how did you like it? Over 50+ happy gurls got their nails did by nail artists Jessica Tong, Mimi and Ria that day and it looked so cute. The nail artists shared some of the best of, see it below. They were super busy so couldn’t shoot all the hands! May be I’ll do this again at the next one.

I worked hard to choose the best sneaker-inspired nail art to the event, it was a tough choice but Jessica executed the nails pretty well. I’m so sorry that I wasn’t able to be at the booth to greet you guys, Jessica told me a lot of people came to meet me but I was occupied the entire time. Hopefully I get to meet all you all in the near future.

Jeff Koons x H&M Fifth Avenue Opening Event

On Tuesday night H&M celebrated its collaboration with iconic artist, Jeff Koons at the opening of its new flagship store on 589 5th Avenue. The VIP pre-opening event brought together fashionistas and art fans alike, along with celebrities Olivia Wilde and Ashley Benson with a special performance by British sensation, Birdy. I was quite excited that I got to meet Jeff Koons, he was extremely poised and really nice to everyone. Some of the lucky ones got bags signed by him too, so happy to be one of them!

“I’m very happy to be working with H&M. It’s really exciting to be celebrating the opening of their flagship store and I’m very proud the bag,” said Jeff Koons. Art is something that is accessible, we interact with it all the time and H&M makes fashion the same way.”

At the event, guests were the first to shop the new collection and the limited-edition Jeff Koons Balloon Dog leather handbag. The yellow Balloon Dog is one of the artist’s most iconic works, the bag retails for $49.95. Check here for the US store listings, it will be available for sale beginning July 17th.

The store is currently the biggest in the world, the 57,000 square feet store spans across five floors and will offer an H&M Home department, collections for ladies, men, kids, young ladies and young men, with separate “store within store” sections for accessories, and lingerie. The ladies floor was pretty impressive, you can basically find everything you can’t find in other H&M stores there and I really love the dedicated shoe section.

The store will open to the public at 12:00pm on Thursday, July 17th with a grand opening celebration.  On opening day the first 1,000 customers in line will receive an Access to Fashion Pass valued between $10 and $1000 as well as giveaways and the chance to win free passes to the Jeff Koons Retrospective at the Whitney Museum of American Art.  To further celebrate the grand opening, customers who bring garments to be recycled in H&M’s Garment Collecting program before the store opens will be entered to win gift cards valued between $50 and $100.

H&M Summer Camp Recap

Last night I took a trip to Williamsburg for H&M’s Summer Camp event at Café de la Esquina. This event marks H&M’s first ever Brooklyn party, along with a press preview of their current summer collections. Showcased in the “General Store” were highlights from key summer campaigns such as the brand’s newly announced Ashley Benson campaign, as well as other coveted styles for men, women, and children.

The event was so cute featuring camp themed activations complete with flower crowns and bracelets by co-host Taylor Tomasi Hill @TTHBlooms. I love La Esquina food and there were a variety of Mexican inspired tasty summer treats last night, I went in on the corn on the cob- so good! Music by DJ Mia Moretti, and a live performance around the campfire by Zoë Kravitz and her band LOLAWOLF.

Coach Summer 2014 Party on the High Line

Tuesday night, Coach hosted its 2014 edition of the Summer Party on the High Line in collaboration Friends of the High Line. It was a perfect night as we watched the sunset on the High Line and  danced to music by DJ Kayper and a surprise performance by De La Soul. For his debut event as Coach’s new creative director, Stuart Vevers joined Coach CEO Victor Luis and President/Co-Founder of Friends of the High Line Joshua David, along with additional VIP guests for this beautiful summer night.

The annual Summer Party on the High Line is not only a celebration of the brand and the incredible new park that brings joy to New Yorkers and tourists alike, but of the amazing City that Never Sleeps. Exciting elements of this year’s party included design and décor nods to the decadent nightlife of the ‘70s. 100% of all ticket sales from the event benefits Friends of the High Line.
