Nike x Riccardo Tisci Air Force 1 ‘Beige’ Collection

Nike x Riccardo Tisci Air Force 1 Beige Collection

For those that missed out on the first two colorways (white and black) of the Nike x Riccardo Tisci Air Force 1 Collection, the third and final installment of the trilogy will release next month with a collection in beige! In case you’re still looking for the white boot, it’s still available in most sizes here.

“Everyone in the world needs identity so they are all making themselves into tribes.” Tisci continues, “They are more Goth, more pure or more punk, more rap, more R&B…You can have a million different tribes, but it’s always one thing that unites them,” says Riccardo Tisci.

Like the earlier collections, the Beige Collection consists of four styles: Lo, Mid, Hi and Boot; all crafted with premium leather and tumbled leather Swoosh. Each pair comes wrapped in custom Nike + R.T. Air Force 1 packaging.

The Nike + R.T. Air Force 1 Beige Collection hits NikeLab locations around the world and nike.com/af1rt on October 16th. Ahh which means I’ll have to hunt down a pair in size 4.5Y for myself, which pair is the best?

Sisterhood of Hip Hop: A Guide to Swag

Sisterhood of Hip Hop: A Guide to Swag

How many of you guys are into hip-hop? If you are and love reality shows then you must watch the Sisterhood of Hip Hop series on Oxygen. Produced by Grammy-Award winning recording artist T.I., the series follows five female hip-hop artists Siya, Nyemiah Supreme, Diamond, Brianna Perry and Bia on the daily as they work towards becoming the next big breakout star. There are also many big names making cameos in the series, like Rick Ross, Eve and more.

Don’t let the name of the show fool you, the idea of “sisterhood” does not mean building a girl group. Let’s be honest, most females don’t work well together especially when there’s fierce competition, money and fame in the mix. But it’s more like an empowering network for women and despite the dramatic elements in the series, the MCs start to bond and grow together to support one another as they build their own careers.

I feel like whenever there’s a reality show, aside from all the talent and drama in the series, it’s all about the cast’s overall swag and style. Do you agree? I’m personally a big fan of the hip-hop style and streetwear looks so I put together a little ‘Sisterhood’ Street Guide inspired by the unique swag of the five MCs (see below). Be sure to tune-in to the Sisterhood of Hip Hop every Tuesday at 9/8c only on Oxygen!

Anthony Vaccarello x Versus Versace Spring 2015 Collection

Anthony Vaccarello x Versus Versace Spring 2015 Collection

Anthony Vaccarello’s capsule collection for Versus Versace is daring, bold and strong. Making a provocative and rebellious statement, the collection features looks for both men and women. This collection marks Anthony’s first time designing menswear pieces.

“It’s an instinctive collection based on how I see the Versus girl now. She’s urban and pays attention to details. It’s based on my memories of the original Versus collections that I loved. Working with Donatella was very organic. She allowed me to collaborate freely and I learned how to use print,” says Anthony Vaccarello.

Key looks for women include: a slashed black mini-dress held by lion’s head piercings, a lion plexi ring at the heart of a short harness dress, paneled octagon cutout leather revealing the body beneath in long draped dresses, and bands of the famous Versace Grecian key cross the body on short dresses and gowns. Soft tailoring showcases sleek and playful pieces like the bandeau jumpsuit, Versace prints decorate blazers and a shirt that morphs into a tight black dress.

The mens looks include: octagon cutouts puncture a leather vest, while a new variation of prints are taken on shirts, sweatshirts and blousons. Sharp tailoring in black is also available for a clean and sleek look.

The collection also features accessories such as high heels and handbags for women using gold ski closures and white sneakers with gold lions head fastening for men. Selected pieces are available now for immediate shopping online and at selected retailers.

Staple x Shake Shack

Staple x Shake Shack

Last week my friends at Staple invited me to a private event at the Shake Shack at Madison Square Park to celebrate the new #StapleShack collaboration. Besides yummy Shake Shack burgers being served, the highlight was Jeff Staple’s custom “Staple Concrete” frozen custard flavor. It was delish!

The collaboration between Staple and Shake Shack is available for a limited time and includes a limited edition product capsule and a “Staple Concrete” frozen custard flavor. The limited edition t-shirt retails for $23, sunglasses for $35, and the custom concrete (Single: $4.30/Double: $6.55) is available for a limited time only.

“I could not be more proud of this collaboration,” says jeffstaple. “I’ve been a fan of Shake Shack since back when there was only one location in Madison Square Park. I’m also a die-hard Doughnut Plant fan because I’m a 15-year resident of the Lower East Side, where they’re located.”

“This collaboration has ‘NEW YORK CITY’ written all over it,” he continues. “It’s great to see that something I created in the street culture fashion market can now be translated to the culinary world. Thanks to everyone at Shake Shack for making my dream a reality!”

The “Staple Concrete” frozen custard flavor will be available between September 12-21 at select NYC Shake Shack locations (see below), and the sunglasses and tee are now available while supplies last online on Reed Space, Shake Shack, and Staple web store. Congrats to my friend Jeff Staple!

EDUN Spring/Summer 2015 Collection

EDUN Spring/Summer 2015 Collection

EDUN’s Spring/Summer 2015 Collection draws inspiration from the circle, a symbol of unity, balance and continuity which is represented throughout the collection. The symbol can be seen in the form of irregular circle printed hair calf, hand-stitched circle design and in tonal circle patterns on birds-eye jacquards.

The collection features a variety of styles conveying a 1960’s vibe. With A-line and tailored shapes paired with obi circle belts to emphasize the waistline, simple wrapping influenced by West Africa and Japan, clean cut classic cotton oxford shirts and graphic elements of stripes and halftones added as handwoven and silkscreen panels. Introducing indigo raw denim in the form of the Judo pant, a little flare is added to the luxurious pieces in the collection.

Tuareg inspired pieces like pendants with mineral stones, hair calf knitted bags with digitally printed and plated sterling silver handles accessorize the spring. The shoes were made in a special collaboration with Manolo Blahnik, a mixture of printed hair calf and transparent PVC uppers are seamed with a tic stitch detail.
