Gigi Burris Spring/Summer 2015 Collection

Gigi Burris Spring/Summer 2015 Collection

Gigi Burris presents her collection for the first time during New York Fashion Week, unveiling her Spring/Summer 2015 Millinery Collection. Using inspiration from Yves Klein’s Anthropometries and Mapplethrope’s floral photography, garments in the collection illustrate the milliner by using a palette of black, natural straw, blue and white to meet elements of sewn shiny Racello Braids, Swiss Star bright straw, ostrich poof and peacock flue.

Invoking a sense of easy elegance and irreverence, Gigi’s whimsical pieces create something that is genuinely unique. Love love love her hats, so amazing!

Reem Acra Spring 2015 Collection

Reem Acra Spring 2015 Collection

Modernizing the glamour and artistry of the mid-20th century Paris, Reem Acra’s Spring 2015 Collection transforms the classic hand draped jersey into cut out detailing using body conscious silhouettes. Sculptural elements take on a life of its own as fabrics evolve into silk organza and chiffons and panels of Reem’s signature embroidery are molded and placed asymmetrically across the body. Florals also take on a new life, playing an important role in this season’s wardrobe.

Soft, delicate and subtle use of color in the collection gradually shine through pale silver and gold embroideries with contrasting underlays. Blush, aqua, blue-grey and aubergine give the collection its vintage feel, but uses of bright pink and black give a more contemporary vibe. Embroidery, a signature element in every Reem Acra collection puts on the finishing touch. Hand sewn and stitched crystals, beading and lace are used to enhance this delicacy and bring a new freshness to the collection.

Reem Acra’s Spring 2015 Collection shines light on elements of the classic couture while adding bits and pieces of herself to bring those styles into the 21st century. So pretty!

Anthony Vaccarello x Versus Versace Spring 2015 Collection

Anthony Vaccarello x Versus Versace Spring 2015 Collection

Anthony Vaccarello’s capsule collection for Versus Versace is daring, bold and strong. Making a provocative and rebellious statement, the collection features looks for both men and women. This collection marks Anthony’s first time designing menswear pieces.

“It’s an instinctive collection based on how I see the Versus girl now. She’s urban and pays attention to details. It’s based on my memories of the original Versus collections that I loved. Working with Donatella was very organic. She allowed me to collaborate freely and I learned how to use print,” says Anthony Vaccarello.

Key looks for women include: a slashed black mini-dress held by lion’s head piercings, a lion plexi ring at the heart of a short harness dress, paneled octagon cutout leather revealing the body beneath in long draped dresses, and bands of the famous Versace Grecian key cross the body on short dresses and gowns. Soft tailoring showcases sleek and playful pieces like the bandeau jumpsuit, Versace prints decorate blazers and a shirt that morphs into a tight black dress.

The mens looks include: octagon cutouts puncture a leather vest, while a new variation of prints are taken on shirts, sweatshirts and blousons. Sharp tailoring in black is also available for a clean and sleek look.

The collection also features accessories such as high heels and handbags for women using gold ski closures and white sneakers with gold lions head fastening for men. Selected pieces are available now for immediate shopping online and at selected retailers.

EDUN Spring/Summer 2015 Collection

EDUN Spring/Summer 2015 Collection

EDUN’s Spring/Summer 2015 Collection draws inspiration from the circle, a symbol of unity, balance and continuity which is represented throughout the collection. The symbol can be seen in the form of irregular circle printed hair calf, hand-stitched circle design and in tonal circle patterns on birds-eye jacquards.

The collection features a variety of styles conveying a 1960’s vibe. With A-line and tailored shapes paired with obi circle belts to emphasize the waistline, simple wrapping influenced by West Africa and Japan, clean cut classic cotton oxford shirts and graphic elements of stripes and halftones added as handwoven and silkscreen panels. Introducing indigo raw denim in the form of the Judo pant, a little flare is added to the luxurious pieces in the collection.

Tuareg inspired pieces like pendants with mineral stones, hair calf knitted bags with digitally printed and plated sterling silver handles accessorize the spring. The shoes were made in a special collaboration with Manolo Blahnik, a mixture of printed hair calf and transparent PVC uppers are seamed with a tic stitch detail.

Katie Gallagher Spring 2015 Collection

Katie Gallagher Spring 2015 Collection

American fashion designer, Katie Gallagher, debuts her Spring/Summer 2015 collection entitled Fantasm during NYFW. The collection revolves around the idea of things being inconstant or impermanent and is shown through Katie’s delicate designs and use of soft neutral colors.

The illusory essence of the word Fantasm captures the idea of seeing the true complexion of something just before it fades away — like the changing appearance of naturally occurring elements like dew or smoke just before they diminish into transparency or the faint luminance of a memory just before it disappears from one’s mind.”

Taking her audience into a world that only exists in a figment of the imagination, the new Spring/Summer 2015 collection is definitely one to look out for.
