I don’t know about you but when I heard that Louis Vuitton‘s creative director Marc Jacobs and Japanese artist Yayoi Kusama will be collaborating on a collection I was ecstatic. I love LV collabs and I haven’t been excited for LV bags since the release of the Murakami ‘Monogramouflage’ collection! I’m personally a big fan of polka dots (reminds me a bit of COMME des GARÇONS and the red/white ones are so Minnie Mouse!), so I can’t wait to get my hands on some of the pieces. Thanks to StyleRumor, here’s the first look at the collection lookbook (more pics to be posted).
The first wave of the collection will be released on July 10th, two days prior to the opening of the artist’s retrospective at the Whitney Museum in New York City. A second release of goods will be arriving in stores in October. The collection features Kusama’s famous polka dots and prints against iconic Louis Vuitton leather goods, ready-to-wear, shoes, accessories, watches and jewelry.
“The obsessive character and the innocence of her artwork touched me. She succeeds in sharing her vision of the world with us.” Marc Jacobs
How amazing? Get your names on the waiting list now if you’re obsessed! I just need to decide which pieces I want now…
