Last Thursday, Persol unveiled the second of three installments in its PERSOL MAGNIFICENT OBSESSIONS: 30 Stories of Craftsmanship in Film exhibition series at The Museum of Moving Image in Astoria, Queens. Music was provided by special guest DJ Terry Richardson and Twin Shadow while guests and VIPS toured the exhibition. I spotted Zoe Saldana, Abbie Cornish, Rebecca Minkoff and John Turturro at the event.

The exhibition, curated by Michael Connor, is opened to the public from June 14th through August 19th at Museum of Moving Image celebrating the stories of obsessive craftsmanship behind some of cinema’s most iconic on-screen moments. Just as it takes 30 manual steps to create the perfect pair of Persol frames, PERSOL MAGNIFICENT OBSESSIONS showcases how each instance of cinematic perfection takes hours, weeks or months of painstaking research and craftsmanship to develop and is truly a labor of love.

This year’s exhibition showcases the works of: Arianne Phillips (W.E.), Todd Haynes (Far From Heaven), Ed Harris (Pollock), Hilary Swank (Million Dollar Baby), Vittorio Storaro (The Last Emperor), Jean-Pierre Jeunet (Amélie), Alfred Hitchcock (North by North West), Dean Tavoularis (One from the Heart), Douglas Trumbull (Stargate sequence) and Ennio Morricone (For his collaboration with Sergio Leone).

The space is pretty amazing, definitely stop by if you get a chance. Here’s my recap of the night…

Outfit: Elizabeth and James Draped Neck Leather Jacket, American Apparel Jersey Legging, Balenciaga First Bag (similar style here), ASH UFO Wedge Sneaker, nOir x Disney Dinosaur Bones Cuff, nOir Jewelry Pyramid Ring, Bijules Bar Ring, Eley Kishimoto x Incase iPhone Case
