Urban Outfitters has tapped California-based jewelry designer Annie Costello Brown to design an exclusive three-piece jewelry collection called Clea. “Clea was the name of a friend of mine in high school,” says Annie Costello Brown. “Of course, it’s also a nickname for Cleopatra—she, too, had great style!” Influenced by both ancient cultures and her own personal history, Annie Costello Brown is best known for her distinctively modern take on traditional materials and craftsmanship.

The Clea line includes a pair of geometric earrings in Brown’s signature black leather, constructed with a tribal sensibility acquired during her travels in Indonesia and Southeast Asia. Also included in the collection are two antique brass and glass necklaces, taking cues from the vintage costume jewelry of her parents’ generation. Though drawing inspiration from her eponymous line, these statement pieces explore new colorways and materials to create a unique appeal. “A Clea girl is a big fan and collector of all kinds of jewelry,” adds Brown. “The more the better.”
