GAP seems to have jumped on the “designer collaboration” a bit late, but better late than never. They previously had Roland Mouret and Gap Design Editions by Doo.Ri, Thakoon & Rodarte and most recently brought on their limited edition European Collection. But it seems like they have finally realized the trend and power of collaborations, they tapped French designer, Pierre Hardy to design a a capsule shoe collection for their autumn/winter shelves. The men’s and women’s footwear will be previewed on a limited basis later this year in GAP stores in the UK and France, with a broader range hitting shelves next spring 2008 (damn, hopefully US GAP will carry this collection too). Hopefully the mix won’t be “boring”, I have hope though, Pierre Hardy has interesting shoes and handbags…
So who is next? “Nothing has been announced but we’ll never say never,” a Gap spokeswoman told us. via Vogue.co.uk
