This past Saturday, I’ve attended Giorgio Armani and Luxottica’s celebration of their partnership and the launch of the new Spring/Summer 2013 Eyewear collections during Milan Fashion Week at Armani/Teatro. Here’s a look at the Emporio Armani Eyewear Spring/Summer 2013 collection consisting of both optical and sunglasses options. The eyewear stays true to the Emporio Armani style, both youthful and fresh. Seeing the eyewear being made at the event made me appreciate it more, I’m especially drawn to this round shape, super quirky and fun.
The collection is modern and refined thanks to the carefully designed rubber details and the unique finishes. The color range is extensive, more sober hues are joined by light-hearted and lively pastel and metallic tints combined with mirrored lenses.

WOMEN
EA4011: The round shape has always characterised the brand that since the ’80s has experimented with materials and colours with a touch of irony to create a contemporary look. For this season, the model features a special opaque wood effect plastic material in white, grey, beige and brown.

EA4003: Seductive rounded model with tinted lenses with a ’50s “cat’s eye” inspired design. The acetate front is combined with arms with contrasting coloured rubber inserts that are pleasant to the touch and produced with a bi-injection process that combines materials in a single united piece. Available in five colour variations with transparent front and coordinated rubber arms of the same colour. Available in opaque black as well as fresher shades of green, violet and peach that echo the fashion and accessories collections.

Light and feminine glasses with a ’50s “cat’s eye” inspired design. The large nylon fibre frame, with a double bridge and tubular arms – achieved with a special turning process – features the Emporio Armani logo laser engraved on the metal. The colours are those of the accessories collection, from classic black to the more playful banana-yellow and geranium, all with tinted lenses.

EA2003: A re-visitation of the timeless aviator glasses of the ’70s in metal and nylon fibre that are modern and bold with mirrored lenses and fine tubular arms – achieved with a special turning process – with the Emporio Armani logo laser engraved on the metal. Available in six colours: blue, gold, gunmetal grey, bronze, silver and black.
EA3001: The sharp rectangular shape, typical of the ’80s, is renewed thanks to a bi-injection process that combines two different materials. The acetate front is matched with nylon fibre flex arms with contrasting coloured rubber inserts. Available in five unisex colours: black, aquamarine, brown, peach and violet.
