A view of the 16 showpieces from Alexander McQueen’s Fall 2010 collection presented in Paris today, which were all cut “on the stand” by McQueen in the weeks before he took his own life. According to WWD, McQueen’s inspirations ranged from Byzantine art and Old Master paintings to the carvings of Grinling Gibbons, and each look was worn with a bronzed cap, some spiked with a Mohawk of gilded leaves like a Roman war helmet. The show notes for the final collection were, “Each piece is unique, as was he.” Indeed.
The collection was amazing, so sad that this will be Lee Alexander McQueen’s final collection. He will not be forgotten, R.I.P. Take a look at the beautiful collection after the jump…
