Last event for Valentine’s Day was a quick stop at Jeffrey for the launch of the LACOSTE RED! collection. Lacoste partnered up with retail pioneer Jeffrey Kalinsky to launch its new LACOSTE RED! segment for Spring 2009. The new collection is targeted at the younger and fashion-alert customers, the range features a tweaked crocodile lable and offers a slimmer cut- mod, clean and fitted. While the standard label has the croc sitting atop the letters LACOSTE, the new segment has the crocodile leading the letters and punctuated with a red exclamation point. I first saw the collection at the Lacoste Spring 2009 runway show back in September and loved it, wish they did a capsule for women at Jeffrey too.

For the launch there will be a Jeffrey RED! capsule collaboration featuring the iconic 100% cotton piqué polo which is revamped with a smaller collar, narrower placket with two buttons, an extended tail and contrasted color rib trim. The shirt will retail for $128, and be offered in chlorophyll green, grey chine, navy blue and white. The classic 100% cotton twill tennis short in white, navy blue and twine beige, will retail for $125. 100% baby alpaca vneck and cardigan sweaters complete the assortment, retailing for $300 and $325. The sweaters will be available in Asphalt Grey Chine, Eclipse Blue and Lavender. The collection will be available at Jeffrey New York, select Nordstrom stores, select LACOSTE boutiques
and lacoste.com February 2009.

Robert Siegel, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of LACOSTE USA commented, “With LACOSTE Red! Collection, Christophe Lemaire and the design team have focused on an exciting new generation of LACOSTE men. Jeffrey has a unique ability to cater to this clientele and to showcase our new collection.”

Jeffrey Kalinsky stated, “I have been a lifetime wearer of LACOSTE, and it has always been my dream to do a collaboration with them. This small capsule collection gives a nod to the past, while creating polos, knitwear, and tennis shorts that are perfect for today.”
