MUJI SOHO
455 Broadway
New York, NY
The long awaited MUJI has finally opened its door in Soho this morning, I attended a press preview this morning before the store opened to the public (I was there at 10am – 11am, the above pic was taken when I left MUJI at 11am). I have been a fan of MUJI ever since I first visited their Hong Kong store X years ago! I absolutely love the idea of their brand, it is dedicated to reducing waste and conserving resources (just what we need in this world). All press were given a goodie “My Bag” with two of their goods inside, no worries MUJI has prepared 500 free “My Bag” giveaways for the first 500 customers who come to the store and shop on the opening day. The store will also giveaway free “MY Bag” to customers who have shopped at store within these three days. MUJI “My Bag” will be offered at $1 after three days of opening.
I was a little disappointed that they didn’t carry their MUJI Japanese snacks, I’m telling you the snacks are DAMN GOOD! I was told by one of the staff that snacks will be offered to the US in the near future, I really hope soon. But in the mean time they gave us a teaser, for the press they offered a few snacks (it was yummy)! MUJI has about 7000 products, they’ve brought over 2000 – hopefully in The New York Times Building location they’ll bring ALL their products to NYC. I came out with a big shopping bag, you’ll be seeing frequent updates as I am sorta obsessed with MUJI haha! More info here.
More pics (overload) after the jump…
The pics are not in any particular order…I just snapped as I went around!
A dedicated register in the back of store for returns, exchanges and delivery – all stores should have this especially H&M…ahem!
Tea and MUJI snacks were offered to the press – they are not for sale! 🙁 I miss the snacks, I used to cop a lot when I visited HK! Bring it to NYC!!
