Disruptive by Design Dinner at Oakley Headquarters

Disruptive by Design Dinner at Oakley Headquarters

As per my previous post, I was in Los Angeles with Oakley last week for their Disruptive by Design 30th anniversary celebration. The night before the party, Oakley invited us to its headquarters aka The Bunker at One Icon for dinner. I was super excited to visit the HQ since everyone that went before said it’s pretty amazing. When I arrived at I was in awe, the building is so unique and futuristic, definitely made me feel like I was in an Iron Man movie (haha).

Dinner was fun and dessert was special since it was a Nitro Coconut Coolant dessert prepared by Chef Marcel Vigneron, so yum! Afterwards, I got to customize a pair of sunglasses.

nitro:licious turns 8!

nitro:licious turns 8!

Happy 8th year anniversary to my baby nitro:licious! Has it been 8 years already? Yesterday, my blog officially turned 8, time flies! For those that follow me on Instagram and Twitter, you guys already know that I’m still in Los Angeles and had a mini celebration at Chubby Cheek Cafe. I’ve been wanting to try the food since I didn’t get a chance to eat last time when I was hosting the mini:licious pre-launch party. I also just wanted to spend more time with my goddaughter and her big bro so this was the perfect spot. I didn’t host a party this time around since I’m kinda beat from traveling. Low key is the way to go! Yummy food, love CCC!

I also want to give a big thanks to Kym and Mike from Irie Cakes for creating such an amazing carousel cake, Chanel-inspired quilted “smash” cake and cupcakes, and also cake pops for nitro:licious’ anniversary! Why a carousel cake? Because it’s unique, there are 8 unicorns on the carousel, and unicorns are one-of-a-kind (haha). The couple has such an amazing skill, if you’re looking for a pastry baker in the LA or SD area, hit them up! Still can’t get over how amazing the carousel cake and quilted cake came out, I’m obsessed. Thank you guys so much! Peep the carousel cake cutting here.

It’s been a crazy journey and I’m so happy to have you guys supporting me. Much love to my loyal readers, thank you guys so much for continuing to read my blog! More exciting things to come…

Hennessy Privilege Chinese New Year 2014 Dinner

Hennessy Privilege Chinese New Year 2014 DinnerPhotography: Kirill

On Tuesday night, February 4th, I had the honor to co-host Hennessy Privilege‘s Chinese New Year 2014 dinner with Christine Su, Yu-Ming Wu and Rocky Xu for a select group of Asian-American influencers. The dinner took place in Flushing at Lake Pavilion with an 8-course banquet style feast featuring various dishes meant to symbolize good fortune. Hennessy Privilege’s specialty cocktail of the night was “The Wooden Horse” (in honor of the Year of the Horse) served neat and/or on-the-rocks.

A Chinese New Year celebration isn’t complete with a lion dance, this performance is believed to bring good luck and fortune so it’s a must. The lion dance was performed by Wan Chi Ming Dragon and Lion Dance Team. At the end of the night guests were gifted with engraved Hennessy Privilege bottles along with a Money Tree.

And of course being a host has it’s perks, I left with a Hennessy Privilege Collector’s Edition bottle, along with my name engraved on a Hennessy Privilege bottle and can’t forget the Money Tree to bring fortune! It was a perfect night, thank you Hennessy Privilege!

mini:licious launch party at citibabes

This past Sunday, January 26th, I hosted a launch party to introduce mini:licious to my haute NYC mommies/daddies. Thanks to Citibabes for sponsoring the space, I was able to throw a party in the heart of Soho. The 1500 square foot indoor playground was perfect for all the minis to play in while the adults mingle and eat in the cafe area. All the delicious food was sponsored by my friend Chris Wong from Breakroom. Everyone had food coma after eating all the comfort food, so good! If you haven’t been to Breakroom, definitely check it out the next time you’re in Chinatown.

I was also happy to have Kris Shum from Kakes by Krisota make a 3D fondant cake for the party, the cake came out really good. And of course it came complete with a pair of baby Jordan 5 ‘Bel-Air’ kicks! Kris is really good, that cake was everything, thanks for sponsoring the cake!

The dessert table got us all into a sugar high thanks to: Baked by Melissa for all the yummy mini cupcakes, Treat House for all the delicious treats and last but not least the cute teddy bear cookies made by Fab Made Chic. All the minis kept hydrated with Vita Coco Kids drinks and snacked on Pop Chips and the famous New Kam Hing sponge cakes.

I was so happy to hang out with my haute mommy/daddy friends and their babies, some of which are new and old friends. It’s hard to get together with them since they have their hands full with their kid(s). Despite the cold, I had 20 families come through to celebrate! I wish I could of captured every moment but after hosting these parties I know how difficult it is to get a good shot of a kid, they move too fast ha!

Last but not least, how can my guests leave without fabulous gift bags for their little ones? Big thanks to my sponsors: Haddad Brands, New Era and Shea Moisture! Thanks to you all for a successful event.

Party planning is very stressful and overwhelming but when it comes to fruition, it’s actually very satisfying to see the party come to life. But the best feeling is seeing all the guests enjoy the party. I’m so happy that I went through with the NYC launch party for mini:licious, it was worth all the stress! Oh also, I don’t have any kids yet, in case you were wondering!
