United Nude never fails to amaze me with their architectural shoes, this time is no different. Zaha Hadid and Rem D Koolhaas of United Nude announce the new limited edition haute couture shoe, NOVA Shoe. The shoe designed by Zaha Hadid has officially launched at the iconic store L’eclaireur, 40 rue de Sévigné, in Paris.
Techniques such as injection and rotation molding, as well as hand-molded methods such as vacuum casting were combined to create the shoe. In fact, the NOVA is the first shoe in history to employ rotation molding, which is the only molding technique that allows for such a smooth and seamless result. The upper of the shoe combines metallic chromed vinyl rubber and is lined with the highest quality Italian kid nappa leathers.
This limited edition shoe will be available in sizes 35 – 40. Only 100 per color will be available and are retailing for $2,000 USD. The NOVA will be available at very select stores, including L’Eclaireur in Paris and both the Zaha Hadid Design and United Nude webshops.
