My friend Laura has been yapping about Pio Pio forever, she goes with her friends at least once a week. She claims this place has one of the best chickens she’s ever had! I love chicken and I’ve been craving for it for a hot min, but it just seems like a far hike (even by car) to just go there for lunch or dinner. Finally, I had to go to Queens to run a few errands for my parents and it was B’s b’day so B, my bro and I went to Pio Pio for lunch (there’s several, but this one is said to be the best). The place was jam packed but luckily its big enough to fit everyone without a wait (at least for lunch), next door to the eat-in, there’s a take-out spot – that shows how busy they are, one just for take-out…DAMN! We ordered like we’ve never ate before, far more than we need to fill out stomaches. The appetizers were so so, but the chicken was damn amazing! Great prices, I will def go back and recommend this to EVERYONE…bring your fam! Peep the pics after the jump…
Inca Kola $2.00 – Pretty good!
Hot Sauce – B and my bro kept using this, haha they said it was real damn good!
Soup of the Day $4.00 – There’s cilantro in it, so I didn’t touch it – they both liked it.
Fried Calamari $10.00 – We all thought this was way too big, I prefer the little fried calamari instead…
Cebiche Limeno $10.00 – I don’t eat this, but they both thought it was pretty good.
Rice & Beans $4.00 – Good.
Maduros $3.00 – Very very sweet, too sweet and oily for me.
Papa Fritas $3.00 – Ok.
Whole Chicken Pio $8.00 – AMAZING!
