After a long day of errands in Queens, B and I decided to stop by Flushing for a bite – there’s tons of restaurants and good food there! We stopped by this little spot and saw that it was full house so we assumed it would be good, then again most of the restaurants in Flushing are packed. The name of this restaurant can get confusing if you can’t read Chinese. The English sign reads Noodle House but the Chinese sign reads Nan Shian Dumpling, I couldn’t read it myself but their business card was printed with that name. But the name is not the main point of this restaurant, their Nan Shian soup dumplings are their main attraction.

The wait for a table of 2 on a Friday night wasn’t so bad, about 10-15 mins wait time. Be prepared the restaurant is small so everyone just crams into their seats. The Pork Buns (soup dumplings) are made on the spot and steamed when ordered. Overall the food was decent, didn’t really like the scallion pancake compared to Joe’s Shanghai (they have the best), the Chicken with Rice Cake was passable, the Steamed Crab Meat & Pork Buns is def better at Joe’s Shanghai, but their famous Steamed Nan Shian Pork Buns was pretty good, very “natural” taste, not as heavy as the usual Pork Buns! The pork buns are very juicy and full of soup, the ones without don’t taste good! I def recommend coming here to try the Steamed Nan Shian Pork Buns, I’ll def be going back! Peep the pics after the jump…
