Went to check out Lacoste‘s Fall 2009 fashion show early in the AM on Valentine’s Day with Yu-Ming (Freshness) at the Bryant Park Tent. The collection is made up of muted colors with a pop of color and monochrome styling- cozy sweaters and knits, thigh high “sock” boots that I’m lusting over, voluminous coats and oversized sweaters and cardigans…oh and lots of hooded scarves too. There are two distinct groups of women in this collection Christophe Lemaire explains, the “charming, masculine look made famous by Diane Keaton as Annie Hall, with ties and shirts in matching fabric worm with men’s chinos and then there is a more futuristic and feminine pop look: Princess Leila with a touch of 1960s Courreges so to speak.” As always the collection is subtle and appealing, love the collection! I absolutely must-have the thigh high “sock” boots and the oversized cardigan is super cute too, can’t wait till Fall!
“I wanted the Fall/Winter 2009 show to focus on the chic and sophisticated side of Lacoste. The collection is about pure color and relaxed elegance. It is warm and comfy, but clearly more abstract and less referenced.” – Christophe Lemaire
