Prabal Gurung presented his Spring/Summer 2016 collection during NYFW that paid tribute to his native Nepal. Earlier this year, Gurung’s homeland Kathmandu was struck by a devastating earthquake. In response to the tragedy, he put all his efforts into fundraising for the cause and redirected his passion into the Spring/Summer 2016 line. Special guests in attendance of the show included Kylie Jenner, Solange Knowles, Jennifer Hudson, and Gabrielle Union.
The collection featured a range of halter tops, v-necks, and off-the shoulder silhouettes in vibrant shades of orange, pink, yellow and white. Models wore flowing blouses, skirts, and dresses that projected a sense of simplicity. The materials use to create the garments were sheer and light, adding to the overall tone of Gurung’s presentation.
