No trend in is hotter in 2018 than “dad shoes” and Nike’s getting in on the action with a chunky new shoe for the ladies: the M2K Tekno. First unveiled in John Elliott’s Fall/Winter 2018 show during New York Fashion Week, the shoe draws clear inspiration from one of Nike’s best-selling (if not most appreciated) shoes of all time, the Air Monarch. A hybrid version of the Monarch’s midsole and upper and the same outsole make up the majority of the shoe’s look and The “Phantom” iteration of the Tekno features a sail/light grey upper with multiple overlaid leather panels and swooshes, offering a unique layered aesthetic. The heel features bright orange plastic detailing, and a large orange swoosh appears on both insoles. The shoe’s dad look is tied together with a tonal sail midsole and black/grey outsole.
Several colorways of the M2K Tekno will be arriving this spring and summer, and this light-colored version is set to release May 19th for $100 USD. I can’t wait to get my hands on these! Do you like?
