Nicholas Kirkwood showcases his latest Spring/Summer 2016 collection entitled, Spaces in Between. Kirkwood reinterprets the concept of negative space and applies it to different textures and silhouettes throughout the collection. This season, signature styles are refreshed and emphasize shape, line and form.
The collection uses combinations of python, patent leather, suede, delicate mesh, and laser cut leather to create texture and give an added depth to the concept. A vibrant palette of Kelly green, cobalt blue, fuchsia, coral and turquoise form the collection, with highlights of acid yellow, lime, and mint green.
The Eyeliner and Fineliner groups of the collection center on defined outlines with heavy boarders morphing into shapes, while the Eyelet group introduces new heel shapes by applying the inspiration’s concept of negative space. The Arp, Hepworth, Eclipse, and Ava sandals round out the collection with their bold silhouettes and unique contours.
