A much-needed hair cut was due and I was so happy to receive an invite to Sassoon Salon’s Autumn Hair event earlier this month. The event took place at the midtown Sassoon Salon at 7 W 56th Street (they also have a downtown location in Chelsea as well), I went with a haircut and blow-dry service that day. At the salon I also got a sneak peek of the Autumn/Winter collection called Optica. Sassoon Salon releases two collections a year featuring haircuts and colors for style ideas. The collections are meant to inspire, the stylists learn new haircuts and color techniques and it will be in salons September 2nd.
At the salon, my hair stylist was Bomi, she asked me how I wanted my cut and how much I wanted to cut off the ends. Since I wanted to keep my hair long, Bomi explained she would cut off about 3-4 inches to remove all the split ends and damaged ends. I also wanted side swept bangs and she taught me the correct want to avoid “bang gaps” by blow drying bangs with a brush outward. That trick really saved me. And since my hair was getting so long it was also getting heavy and flat, I wanted to get some layers in and get some weight off especially since it’s summer time. Bomi decided on long layers to compliment my face structure and she explained that the precise cutting technique allows for haircuts to look great during the “growing out” phase. Perfect for a lazy gurl like me ha!
After my cut, I got a blow dry and she gave me sexy curls with a flat iron! In case you were wondering, haircuts start at $98 and color at $90, which is a steal in Manhattan for high quality hair services. Loved my services, definitely want to go back for a color service!
