NEW YORK, NY, February 17, 2014—On Friday, April 4, 2014, amfAR, The Foundation for AIDS Research will return to Brazil for its fourth annual Inspiration Gala São Paulo, hosted by supermodel Naomi Campbell. The gala, once again to be held at the home of Dinho Diniz, will feature a tribute to amfAR Ambassador, philanthropist, actor, author, and legendary musical artist Janet Jackson. Janet will receive the Award of Inspiration for her courageous advocacy onbehalf of people living with HIV/AIDS. Nizan Guanaes, one of Brazil’s leading communications entrepreneurs, and Donata Meirelles, style director of Vogue Brasil, will be presented with the Humanitarian Award.

amfAR Global Fundraising Chairman Sharon Stone and supermodel Kate Moss will return to Brazil to help raise awareness and critical funds for AIDS research. Ms. Stone and Ms. Moss will serve as Event Chairs alongside Givenchy designer Riccardo Tisci and amfAR Chairman of the Board Kenneth Cole. Honorary Chairs will be Dinho Diniz, Felipe Diniz, and Lucilia Diniz. The Diniz family has been vital to the success of amfAR’s Inspiration series in Brazil, and will continue their generous support in 2014.

The event will include cocktails, a gala dinner, and special performances, which will be announced in the coming months. In previous years, the Inspiration Gala São Paulo has featured performances by artists such as Gilberto Gil, Dita Von Teese, Seu Jorge, Fergie, Bebel Gilberto, Grace Jones, Jennifer Hudson, Debbie Harry, and Preta Gil.

The t-shirt created to promote the annual amfAR Inspiration Gala Sao Paulo has already become a collector’s item. After Lenny Niemeyer and Francisco Costa, Oskar Metsavaht, creative director of Osklen, created the fourth edition of the iconic t-shirt.
The Inspiration Gala São Paulo’s Platinum Sponsors include Louis Vuitton, Iguatemi São Paulo, and Microsoft. Luxury beverages will be provided by Moët Hennessy. Delta Air Lines is the official airline of amfAR.

The Inspiration series was launched in 2010 by amfAR and Josh Wood Productions to celebrate all aspects of men’s style while raising funds for the Foundation’s lifesaving AIDS research programs. Inspiration galas have taken place in New York, Paris, Los Angeles, Toronto, Miami, and Rio de Janeiro, raising more than $12 million to date.
