This spring, the Nike x Undercover Gyakusou collection is inspired by yin-yang and Jun Takahashi’s concept of running. His concept consists of a battle between two opposite emotions and the wager by both body in mind, which is represented in the collection. To him running is a struggle between joy and agony, elation and exhaustion, persistence and surrender.
Takahashi worked closely with Nike’s Apparel Innovation Design Team and was exposed to the latest advanced technologies used in the latest collection. Nike Sweat Map ventilation, which is engineered jacquard weave with pinpoint laser perforations can be found throughout the jackets and tops this season. Sweat Map ventilation uses thermal body mapping and articulates the upper body’s heat map, while the perforations allow for air to move where body temperature is the highest and likely to rise with exercise.
The Nike x Undercover Gyakusou is available now at sivasdescalzo.com and select retailers.
