Vans x Della Spring 2014 Collection

Vans teamed up with Della, a socially responsible fashion company to release a capsule of footwear and accessories for the spring season. This collaboration with Vans creates an opportunity to heighten the awareness of Della’s dedication to empowering the women of the Volta Region of Ghana, West Africa. Della provides the opportunity to build a foundation for a better life through jobs, education and skills training by employing over 50 women to create handcrafted textiles using sustainable materials from the Ghana region.

The Vans x Della collection for spring consists of six unisex footwear styles with an accessories offering to match. The shoes features Della’s handcraft fabrics through a local batik process to create one-of-a-kind prints that were blended on the Vans classic Sk8-Hi Reissue, Era, Authentic, Sk8-Hi Slim and the two new accessory silhouettes, a large hobo bag and wristlet clutch.

The rich colors of the fabric are inspired by the landscape and culture of the region. Vivid shades of blue, yellow, red and green mimic the riverbanks and tree lines found in Volta. The tri-tone heart print pulls together tones of pink, magenta and purple that embodies the heart and soul put into the construction of these hand crafted materials.
