Get ready Hello Kitty fans, the Hello Kitty, Hello Art! Art Exhibition & Book launch hits New York City next week. The highly-anticipated book release celebration for Hello Kitty, Hello Art! features artists from the book (AIKO, Paul Frank, POSE, Simone Legno, and many more popular artists) and beloved fashion designer Betsey Johnson for a three-day weekend filled with fanciful delights for fans of all ages. Sanrio’s first art event in NYC will feature a gallery exhibition, artist signings, limited-edition prints, specialty product releases and many more surprises. The book, as well as original artwork, limited-edition prints and custom holiday-themed merchandise will be available for sale at Openhouse Gallery. Don’t miss this!
On Saturday and Sunday, guests are invited to have their book signed by Hello Kitty, Hello Art! artists who will be onsite throughout the day to celebrate the book release. The book features over 200 color illustrations that infuse pop culture and street art, as well as a pull-out sheet of custom-designed tattoos and will be on sale at the event for $35. The Hello Kitty, Hello Art! book and select limited edition prints will also be available for purchase on sanrio.com.

Hello Kitty, Hello Art! is a hardcover collectible book (9.5” x 11.5”) that is published by ABRAMS and features works of art inspired by Sanrio characters including the iconic Hello Kitty® as well as My Melody®, Keroppi® , Badtz-Maru®, Little Twin Stars®, and more. Inside its glossy cover, the book contains an impressive array of celebrated artists from around the globe who collaborated with Sanrio for Hello Kitty’s 35th anniversary celebration in 2009 and Sanrio’s 50th anniversary in 2010. Highlights include a print release by Betsey Johnson. International graffiti sensation DABS MYLA will be onsite to paint a custom mural, and the holiday themed pop-up shop will offer an assortment of limited-edition holiday gift items, including a collectible DABS MYLA ornament, custom-made candy from Papabubble, holiday wreaths & garland and specialty Sanrio character designs by Berkeley Illustration. Continuing the holiday spirit of friendship and giving, Sanrio will release a new print by celebrated graffiti artist POSE, with 100% of the net proceeds from sales going to the American Red Cross for Hurricanes 2012.
