On Wednesday, Marchesa showed at Vanderbilt Hall at Grand Central Station, I loved that they had one entrance closed for 5 hours during rush hour for the show. I was picked up by Range Rover to attend the show and when I got there the entrance was swarmed with people and paparazzi waiting to see if a celebrity will walk out of the car. Supposedly, minutes before Kim Kardashian and Kanye West walked in, I did see them at the show and after.
For Spring/Summer 2013, Marchesa was inspired by the “spirit of Indian in the 1960s, captured by the Beatles’ experience with the Maharaishi.” As always Marchesa is very intricate with every piece, the attention to detail is impeccable. Designers Georgina Chapman and Keren Craig used traditional Indian techniques, silhouettes are embellished with pearls, silver crystals and gold leaf detail. I especially loved all the white dresses adorned with jeweled embellishments with matching Christian Louboutin flats and kitten heels. Check out my shots after the jump…
