On Thursday night (day 1), Diet Pepsi hosted a refreshing runway experience at The Box at Lincoln Center featuring a collection of original looks by four regional designers. The collections were curated by Simon Doonan and presented on a set designed by Jonathan Adler. How cute is the runway and bench made out of DP cans? The four designers are Project Runway alum and Dallas-based Shirin Askari; Denver, Colorado’s Rachel Hurst of Rae Marie; Genoveva Christoff from Columbus, OH and Elise Bergman from Chicago, IL. The design themes, concepted by Doonan, were inspired by key style trends and include safari animal prints, avant-garde workwear and metallic finishes inspired by the Diet Pepsi can. Each local designer brought their unique hometown perspective to three fall looks and translated each look for the everyday woman.
The fashion show was really fun, intimate and best of all my girl crush Mary-Kate Olsen was there! And obviously I’m all into the neon colors now ha! It was a great way to end the first day of Mercedez-Benz Fashion Week!
