Yesterday was Gabrielle “Coco” Chanel’s birthday (August 19th), in celebration of this big day, Chanel introduced its newest fragrance: No.19 Poudré. The fragrance notes include: top notes of Grasse Neroli and Mandarin Orange; middle notes of Jasmine Absolute and Iris Pallida; base notes of White Musk Notes, Haitian Vetiver and Tonka Bean. The nose behind this fragrance is Chanel house perfumer Jacques Polge.
In 1970, a new number entered the world of perfumery, with N°19. A date, but not just any date. The day that Gabrielle Chanel was born: August 19. A symbol that has imprinted elegance into the collective unconscious for over 40 years. Of all the world-renowned fragrances designed by Gabrielle Chanel, it was her last creation that she deemed her signature scent, named N°19. Initially bold and distinct, its floral-green notes were deep and complex making it a fragrance that was at once audacious and assertive.
I always love a great story behind a product. Happy Birthday Coco Chanel! Chanel N°19 Poudré is available in 1.7 oz ($85) and 3.4 oz ($115), exclusively at Saks Fifth Avenue and Chanel.com.
