Jordan Fly Wade Launch in Miami

Jordan Fly Wade Launch in Miami

Wednesday, April 13, 2011 by Wendy Lam

Finally had a chance to edit more photos from the Jordan Fly Wade Miami trip, it has been non-stop since I got back last week (it’s a good thing). Last Monday Jordan Brand invited media out to Miami to introduce Dwyane Wade’s first signature Jordan shoe, Fly Wade. DWade and footwear designer, Mark Smith, were there to discuss the details of the shoe and the process behind it. DWade explained that he wanted a shoe that would look good on the court and off, something that’s “fly” and would catch the eyes, hence the bright colors. I’m not going to get all technical about the shoe but it’s said that the “Jordan Fly Wade is the lightest Jordan basketball shoe to ever take flight.” The first two colorways will be available in the US on May 5th and in China on May 7th for $140. In addition, the shoe will be available for NIKEID customization on May 29th, the final two colorways will be available in June. If you want to learn more about the shoe, read more on Sneaker News. Oh, and it was also really great meeting DWade, such a nice dude!

Now let’s rewind back to before I met DWade…early in the morning went down to check out the breakfast buffet and I wasn’t disappointed. There were lots of options and the food was yummy, definitely worth getting up early for. Then met up with some of the boys and chilled on the beach until we all got too sweaty haha, we were looking silly in Jordans and were way too “covered up” for the beach. All goods, we were there to “work” you know…then off to check out a few stores and was introduced to The Webster which is a super cool boutique in a historical Art Deco building designed in 1939 by famed architect Henry Hohauser. Seriously, anything from Balenciaga to Celine to Suno, loved the store!

Later that night, Jordan Brand invited us up to the Penthouse for dinner. The view, room and food was all goods…it was fun times. Watched the game, then knocked out in my room…
