On Tuesday night I stopped by the new Mondrian Hotel in Soho to check out Matthew Williamson’s Impulse collection. The hotel is pretty amazing, love love love the entrance and the lobby is super fab too! Last month the first designer capsule collection for Macy’s Impulse department was with Kinder Aggugini, next up is Matthew Williamson. I can’t wait to see Karl Lagerfeld’s collection!

“Working with Macy’s on a capsule collection for spring has been a great project for our company. It’s been really enjoyable to work with such a huge iconic U.S. retail brand and to create a collection that will be available at Macy’s for a limited time only,” said Matthew Williamson. “The collection aims to capture the essence of the mainline brand, with a focus on effortless glamour, dynamic prints, loosely structured silhouettes and pops of strong color. I’m thrilled to see the final collection come to life and look forward to seeing the line on the shop floor at the launch on April 13th at Herald Square.”

The Matthew Williamson for Impulse collection will include dresses, tops, scarves and leather and suede pieces. The collection is has a bohemian mood to it and is full of color and prints, prices retail for $50 – $120, with specialty pieces selling up to $300. Key items will include bold, graphic animal inspired print and embellished day and party dresses, bohemian blouses, printed scarves and flirty day-to-evening rompers, all with Matthew’s iconic styling. The collection is pretty cute, there are definitely a few pieces I’m eying. Look out for the collection in approximately 225 Macy’s stores nationwide and on beginning April 13th. The ad campaign features model Dree Hemingway.

Check out the pics I took at the event and I also included the lookbook after the jump…
