Discover SK-II & Cate Blanchett’s Beauty Regimen

Last week I was invited to Trump Soho to preview an exclusive exhibition by SK-II to uncover the secret key to beautiful skin, one that Cate Blanchett swears by. I’ve first learned about SK-II a few years back when I visited Hong Kong, the brand is huge there since lots of celebrities use it and because of their whitening products. At the exhibition we were introduced to the story behind SK-II which began at a sake brewery in Japan 30 years ago, where scientists noticed the elderly workers had wrinkled faces, but extraordinarily soft and youthful hands. After 5 years of research the miracle ingredient Pitera, a naturally derived liquid from the yeast fermentation process, was discovered. Pitera has the power to help restore the skin’s natural rhythm to its 28-day cycle to promote, clearer, softer, smoother skin.

We can all agree that Cate Blanchett has beautiful skin, she was first introduced to SK-II nine years ago by her make-up artist and started using it since. “My regimen changes slightly according to what I’m doing. But ostensibly, I use Facial Treatment Essence then Facial Treatment Repair C, followed by Cellumination Essence and Cellumination Cream, and finally Whitening Source DermDefinition UV Lotion during the day,” says Cate Blanchett. That’s a whole lot of SK-II and whether you believe the products helped with her youthful skin or it’s just her genes, that’s for you to decide. I’m big on skincare, I’m going to try out the Facial Treatment Essence and Facial Treatment Mask first. Definitely no whitening products for me at the moment. Do you use SK-II?
