After launching a limited edition dress collection with Net-a-Porter, Roland Mouret has created an exclusive capsule collection for Lane Crawford in Hong Kong. According to WWD, the 5-piece limited edition pieces of RM by Roland Mouret was based on his interpretation of Chinese style as a balance between powerful femininity and urban strength. The collection includes a three pencil dress styles and two multipurpose outfits, including the “Attis Carre,” which doubles as a top and skirt. Tops will retail at 4,500 Hong Kong dollars, or about $580, and dresses up to 15,900 Hong Kong dollars, or about $2,000. Only 14 of each design are available across Lane Crawford’s Hong Kong and Beijing stores.
“Europeans are very conservative, but Chinese women are not scared of color, so I used a bold palette of scorching reds and fuchsia hues,” Mouret said. “The weather is also an influencing factor. Because of the heat, I went with a stretch crepe which is light, but has a high-end feel and yet still very urban.”
“My designs are also very distinct but laid-back, sexy but not in your face which I believe work very well for this [Asian] market,” he said.
