Gucci Collector: Presented by Christie’s + Gucci to Launch Couture Collection?

Two Gucci news in one. First up Gucci Collector: Presented by Christie’s, the very first Gucci-certified online destination for Gucci collector’s for appraising vintage Gucci products.

A team of experts including Christie’s Specialists as well as Gucci’s own in-house archivists will assess the item, and Christie’s will provide an auction estimate for qualifying submissions. Select owners will have the opportunity to sell their items to Gucci, or in a future Christie’s auction, if desired.

Second news, according to WWD rumor has it that Gucci’s creative director, Frida Giannini, is working on a debut couture collection. It is understood Gucci does not plan to show its couture on the Paris runway, but sell it on a by-appointment basis and use the couture label to service top celebrities for big red-carpet occasions.
