Nike launched a new Metro Line for women featuring tennis megastar Maria Sharapova, the new line includes three different models: Hi-Jack, Air Offense and Air Zenyth. The campaign was shot in Los Angeles at Smashbox Studios by Argentine photographer Pablo Franco and production by Remix Magazine. The kicks are exclusive to Europe and were released in March and May 2009.
The Hi-Jack is a return to Nike’s first foray’s into the realm of street focused models for the ladies. The shoes goes for a little old school flair with a leather circle at the ankle, in a nod to the dawning sneaker era of PF Flyers and Converse All Stars.
The Air Zenyth combines ripstop nylon, suede and leather in a contemporary update that nods to the sole of the Air Max One, released back in ‘87. With a slightly more refined shape that hints at some of the more contemporary runners and trainers in it’s use of multiple textures and overlays, the shoe also features a button down tongue and comfort sock liner. The Air Zenyth is pretty dope, your thoughts?
