It’s been a long time since I’ve checked out OBEY Clothing, I previewed the Spring 2009 collection in their showroom months ago and was really impressed how they’ve changed into a full line of contemporary clothing and accessories- it’s not just t-shirts and hoodies anymore. This season features a variety of pieces such as washed out denim and knits, garment dye pencil skirts, rompers, and cotton coated trash bag shorts. Other highlights include nautical inspired raincoats, menswear style plaids, and more. A full line of jewelry and accessories are available including one of my favorites a Chanel-inspired laptop bag, hats, and scarves complete the three contemporary collections offered in their ladies spring line. There is also a special collaboration with photojournalist Martha Cooper, featuring her photography and a photo illustrated by Shepard Fairey, on t-shirts and accessories.
There are a few key pieces I’m feelin’ like the Chanel-inspired “Working Girl” laptop bag, Ginger top, My Precious Ring, What A Catch Jacket, Blair Jacket II and The Pier Sweater. The Spring 2009 collection is now available in stores and online at shop.obeyclothing.com, Karmaloop.com and 80sPurple.com.
