Back in Decemeber we’ve announced that everyone’s favorite Project Runway winner Christian Siriano has cut a deal with Payless ShoeSource to distribute a line of low-price shoes and handbags at the discount footwear chain for fall 2009. Siriano’s Payless line, which will debut at New York Fashion Week at his show on Feb. 19 at The Salon at the tents at Bryant Park. WWD has the first look, a sketch of bag in Siriano’s collection for Payless, “the collection of clutches, totes and skyscraping heels ranges in price from $25 to $45 and is inspired by Egyptian artifacts with hieroglyphic details and all.”
“We started very high, very conceptual and very cool, and then made it wearable and marketable,” effused Siriano of his first accessories collection. “I wanted it to be hard and rock-esque.”
I can’t really tell if I like it or not just from the sketch so I’ll await the debut at his NYFW show. Do you like what you’re seeing so far? #NYFW
