According to WWD, Urban Outfitters is set to open a 15,000 sq ft store in the Metro theater building at 2626 Broadway at West 99th Street, which long has been vacant. Sure doesn’t seem like UO has been affected by the recession, the store is scheduled to open late this year or early next year. Since the building is considered an Art Deco jewel, the landmarked and famed exterior of the building will be preserved, built in 1932 featuring 50-foot ceilings and other details dating back to that period. Sounds like a nice store already, can’t wait to see how it turns out.
