According to WWD, Steve Madden introduces legwear this fall with a collection to be produced and distributed by the New York-based Gina Group. Wholesale prices for legwear range from $2 for a footed minisock or “footie” to $12 for fashion tights, both footed and footless. Other pieces in the collection include basic and sweater-knit tights, fashion athletic multipack socks, knee-highs, legwarmers and leggings. Expect the collection to hit select Steve Madden stores this July.

February runways are strong in legwear ranging from opaque, sheer, sparkled Lurex to bright colors, there’s no sign of dying out. Sheer is quite tricky, I was never a fan since my legs are not super thin and it kinda reminded me of an old lady. But the house of Chanel has brought it’s “cool” back in their Fall 2008 RTW collection, I’ll have to try it on in person before I make my final judgments.

I am quite excited about this new edition to Steve Madden as I am an avid fan of legwear, I’m always in leggings and tights. I love anything from leggings, tights, over-the-knee socks, knee high socks to regular socks for everyday wear, I have tons and tons of socks ranging in different colors and designs. My socks collection can fill up a whole bathtub, well I’m a bit exaggerated but I have a lot haha, I tend to lose a lot of leggings and tights for some reason so I stock up on a few pairs everytime I get them. You’ll def be seeing me in wearing lots of tights in many pop colors when the weather gets a bit warmer in NYC, legwear can make a boring outfit fresh. I was hoping that leggings won’t die because they are the most comfortable thing luckily it still stands strong, I think its a staple requirement now. I’ll check out the Legwear by Steve Madden when time comes.
