The Scene
A family owned and operated restaurant serving Southern cuisine featuring Cajun and Arkansas barbecue. We fly live crawfish, oysters, crabs and shrimp into NYC 2 to 3 times a week, serving a traditional Louisiana Crawfish Boil daily. Arkansas style BBQ is also available. Hurricanes, Mint Juleps and Abita beer are featured. – Mara’s Homemade
I keep seeing Mara’s Homemade pop-up everytime I search for a restaurant on OpenTable.com, finally had a chance to try the restaurant with Vicki and Annis last month. As we walked in there, there was a weird smell to the restaurant, I assume it was the crawfish or seafood? We disregarded it and sat down to our table, the restaurant is very “homey”, hence the name of the restaurant. The menu was huge, took us awhile to figure out what to eat. Ordered a bunch of food to try, but to our disappointment the food wasn’t as good as we expected. It was mediocre, I expected more since I really wanted to try this spot. We all weren’t too satisfied, don’t think we’ll be going back – not really a fan of this spot. Peep the pics after the jump…
