The Scene
The East River isn’t the Seine, yet it still has a gritty appeal to patrons of this celebratory floating restaurant. Diners enter via a handsome bar/lounge, all sparkling brass and polished wood, then proceed to the window-wrapped main dining room with expansive views up and down the waterway. Service can be exceedingly slow, especially when packed with the inevitable birthday groups. – Citysearch
Everytime I drive thru (well not me driving) FDR Drive, I passby The Water Club. The place looks interesting and I always thought it was very expensive and high-class. I finally made a reservation there for Restaurant Week and I can say I was quite disappointed. The atmosphere is very old-fashioned and the waiters were old and not on point. I was not satisfied with the service and food. The waiters would stand in one corner and chat and avoid eye contact with you so they can slack, I was getting kinda irritated. The food was not good at all, I would not go back even if its FREE. I had a taste of the RW 3 course meal but B passed, he was a lil luckier haha, peep the dinner after the jump…
What I had…
Appetizer: Maryland Style She-Crab Soup
Entree: Mahi-Mahi (it’s not on the menu)
Dessert: Luscious Chocolate Layer Cake mocha cream, candied orange peel, hazelnuts
What B had…
Entree: Maine Lobster & Filet Mignon
