PUMA just announced a new partnership with Solange Knowles, she has been named a creative consultant for the brand and has recently art directed a collection of footwear inspired by Brazil. As part of this relationship Solange lends her creative talents to PUMA’s Women’s Lifestyle category for the Girls of Blaze Disc Collection.
The Girls of Blaze Disc Collection will be released by PUMA in February 2014, inspired by the sights and sounds of Brazil. With all eyes on Brazil in 2014 for the world’s largest soccer event, Solange celebrates the nation’s spirit with this collection. She enlisted four up-and-coming designers to put their own creative spin on PUMA’s Disc Blaze style. Gerlan Marcel of GERLAN JEANS; visual artist, musician, and photographer Hisham Baroocha; and Darlene and Lizzy Okpo, design team for the women’s wear collection William Okpo, have each created their own colorful interpretation of the PUMA Disc.

Seriously obsessed with the new Nike Women’s Dunk Sky Hi “Liquid Metal” pack, both gold and silver looks crazy amazing! I was debating to get the “Liquid Metal” Air Max 1 when it released but now I think I’ll try to get my hands on the Dunk Sky Hi instead. These are released just in time for the holidays, for all the female sneakerheads that don’t like to dress up, rock a pair of flashy kicks and you’re good. These retail for $200 a piece, kinda steep but I think they’re well worth it. Do you like?

A new limited-edition book takes a tour through ten trailblazing years of Y-3, from its epic fashion shows and hyper-kinetic ad campaigns to the breakthrough clothing that fused style and sport with Yohji Yamamoto’s darkly poetic signature aesthetic. 10 YEARS OF Y-3 presents the first decade of the innovative sportswear label not in chronological format but rather as a beautifully chaotic mix of iconic images and reflective words from the innovators who shaped the brand’s visual language, including Yamamoto himself.
Each spread of the book represents a distinct chapter in the evolution of Y-3, as seen through backstage and runway photography, studio sketches, design prototypes, store imagery, and atmospheric visuals that distill and capture the brand’s essence.
Designed and art directed by PL Studio, the creative consultancy founded by Stefan Pietsch and Georgina Lim, the book resembles a carefully curated and uniquely personal album of brand inspiration. “Sifting through the archives of Y-3 has taken us on a journey through all imaginable sartorial interpretations of sportswear,” said Pietsch and Lim. “Y-3 forged new paths for others to follow. It’s a creative partnership that has defined a new genre in fashion and inspired those who have been fortunate enough to work with the brand.”
The book, published in a limited-edition of 2000, will be gifted to brand ambassadors and collaborators throughout the 2013 holiday season and will not be available for sale. It will be on view at all freestanding international Y-3 boutiques and a digital portal on Y-3.com will be devoted to celebrating its contents.
Beautiful! Here’s a preview of the book, more after the jump…
