Max Mara Tailored Suit Project

Max Mara Tailored Suit Project

Tuesday, August 19, 2014 by Wendy Lam

Max Mara launched a new Tailored Suit Project – a tailored collection which focuses on the jacket, aimed to satisfy the needs of its customers through highly tailored and adaptable garments. The Tailored Suit Project was inspired by the men’s tailored jacket but built around the woman’s body; its strength lying in the hand-sewn tailored precision. This project is aimed at women of all ages and especially meets the need of the business woman.

You can choose from a variety of fabrics like precious wools – heavier flannels, serges and lighter cool wools – in plain or light patterns are gently stretched to ensure maximum comfort, and run from melange grey to black, through to blue and camel. Now you can create the perfect jacket tailored to your taste and body.

Each tailored jacket takes 345 minutes to make: twice as long as a standard jacket. The process includes the use of an inner canvas, hand-stitching, and patient ironing that allows the Tailored Suit Project jacket to naturally fit the female body. There are four different style: single and double breasted, with different variations, including a tuxedo. To co-ordinate, there is a range of trousers, skirts, lightweight sweaters to wear under the jacket, and a crêpe de chine shirt.
