DIY Jil Sander Veiled Beanie

DIY Jil Sander Veiled Beanie

Monday, March 5, 2012 by Wendy Lam

I personally love beanies and have a ton of it in my collection. And if you’ve followed me long enough you’ve noticed I’ve gotten quite a few from Jil Sander’s +J for UNIQLO collection. So when I saw these Jil Sander veiled beanies that came down the Spring 2012 runway show, I was completely obsessed. Since this is a trendy item and I don’t want to splurge $440 for the Veiled Knit Hat, I’ve decided to DIY it along with the help of my friend Tina Phan. If you’d like to DIY, peep below…

Tell me, would you splurge on the real deal or DIY? I call this the homeless chic look ha!

Materials: knit beanie $5, veil (1 yard) $5, scissors, black thread and needle

1. Wear the beanie and position the veil on your head and face
2. Pin down so you don’t lose your place when you remove the beanie

3. Sew into place, just a few stitches…

4. Done!

without sunglasses…

with sunglasses…which do you think looks better?
