Katherine Kwei Spring/Summer 2011 Collection

Katherine Kwei Spring/Summer 2011 Collection

It’s one thing to see the bags in pictures and another to see and feel it in person, last Tuesday I stopped by Katherine Kwei‘s Soho apartment/office to check out her spring/summer 2011 line and immediately fell in love with the collection and her space. Her apt/office is absolutely amazing, tasteful furniture and loved her white dog too! I love the East meets West fusion of her bags, the signature Chinese “Eternity” knot-inspired weave is the main focus of the bags which she learned from her grandmother. Katherine walked me through the collection, for spring/summer she pays homage to pivotal periods in music. From London’s psychedelic 60s to New York’s 80s disco scene. This season is dedicated to that vibrant, playful, stylish woman who we all want the pleasure to one day be with. Lots of fun pop colors and tie dye but also great basics for everyday use as well, there’s definitely something for everyone. A lot of the bags can be worn in different ways, from day to night.

At the event I also got to make my own Chinese knot charms and attempted to learn Chinese knotting, which is super hard! Bloggers also got gifted a special Donna Sling Bag (worn here) created just for the event before we left, I went with the black one so I can use on a daily basis! Absolutely loves it!
